The company was founded in 1992 by brothers Nate and Jon Hillis, who started with a couple of ladders and a simple promise: do quality work, treat people right, and never compromise on prep. Thirty years on it is still family-run, and they still treat every job like their reputation depends on it, because it does. We are new to Jacksonville, but not new to painting. Nate co-founded Hillis Brothers Painting in 1992 with his brother Jon. He leads estimating and customer relations and personally inspects every completed job to make sure it meets the standard the family name is on. Straightforward, responsive, and hands-on from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
Jon co-founded Hillis Brothers Painting in 1992 and runs the crews in the field. With more than 30 years of painting experience, he trains every team member on the prep-first, do-it-right approach the company was built on. If it carries the Hillis Brothers name, Jon has set the standard for how it gets done.
Gabe was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, giving him deep, lifelong roots in the community he now serves. After graduating from the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, he attended Stevenson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. With a strong background in relationship-building and customer service, and a genuine passion for helping homeowners improve and protect their homes, Gabe naturally found his calling in the painting industry. Today he is a dedicated leader at Hillis Brothers Painting, committed to high-quality workmanship, clear communication, and a smooth, stress-free experience for every customer across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
